Awards Recognize Innovation and Excellence in Gaming, Social Networking and Other Hot Mobile Applications

The National Association of Television Program Executives’ (NATPE) today announced the first-ever NATPE Mobile++ Top 12 Awards, which showcase innovation and excellence in the mobile content marketplace. Award submissions and nominations will be accepted beginning November 13, 2007 until December 6, 2007 at 5:00 p.m. ET and the winners will be announced December 19, 2007. The award winners also will be showcased at the NATPE Mobile+ + Conference on January 28, 2008. NATPE Mobile++ produced with Achilles Media, will kick off NATPE’s annual Conference & Exhibition being held January 28-31 at the Mandalay Bay Resort in Las Vegas.

The NATPE Mobile++ Top 12 Awards recognize the hottest properties in mobile content, as selected by an interdisciplinary jury comprised of leading digital media executives and the programming team of NATPE Mobile++. The award categories are Broadcast (Video content created specifically for a mobile device), Social Networking (Innovative ways of connecting people through the mobile format), Gaming (Innovative games specifically designed for mobile devices) and Location-based Media (Unique use of location/GPS technology to deliver content to a mobile device).

The awards jury will base their decisions on factors such as the end user experience, the audience that the application has attracted, the type of partnerships involved in deploying the application and the application’s business model. The judges also will review press coverage of the application.

NATPE Mobile++ Top 12 Award winners will receive a complimentary pass and a 3-minute speaking opportunity at the NATPE Mobile ++ Conference to outline their mobile property before more than 700 mobile executives and leaders from the television and allied industries. NATPE also will issue a press release recognizing the winners.
